Many men stood up to fight, in Australia
For the first time men were fighting under the Australian flag at Gallipoli
Where they earned the name ‘ANZAC’
They showed teamwork, mateship and courage;
The soldiers fought in all types of conditions and weather
Many of them died during the conflict
Others had terrible wounds and many were permanently disfigured
They were proud to help our country and others;
Today, they sell poppies to remind us of their sacrifice
Soldiers still go off to fight for peace, in our world
Will wars never end?!!!
